The American Legion Riders of post 133 proudly donated $500 to local Army Veteran Santana Teran to support medical needs for their son SJ as he battles Parthens disease. Riding out to their home, seeing the kids light up, getting them on the bikes, and witnessing those smiles β€” that’s what community, service, and brotherhood are all about. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ if you can spare anything please do so: [SJ's Go Fund Me page](https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-our-son-heal-one-play-at-a-time?utm_id=97758_v0_s00_e0_tv2_a1den5et7hhdgl&fbclid=IwY2xjawTIuFNleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFtY0FYZWhJVW01RUE4aEt1c3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHkxlW0m_ZyR2uO7MoWSGt4L27Flw14kNxwroU7kn3caZ0mydk3oRZdP442KW_aem_te-be1hhl7s3ojZASPfNtA)

So Close, Yet So Far β€” A Trophy Steal Ride to Tombstone

The morning air had that familiar bite as Amigo, Darkside, King James, Chief, and a few of our guests fired up their bikes and pointed them south toward Tombstone. The mission was clear β€” ride to ALR Post 24 and bring home the Traveling Trophy. With the furthest ride of any chapter in attendance, we figured the road karma alone had to count for something. When we rolled into Tombstone, the energy was exactly what you'd expect from a gathering of Legion Riders β€” good people, great bikes, and plenty of friendly trash talk about who was going home with the prize. Our chapter stood proud knowing we'd logged more miles than anyone else just to be there. Then came the card draws. Not once, not twice, but four times our name was in the mix β€” four chances to pull the right card and claim the trophy. Four times, fate had other plans. The trophy, it seems, wasn't ready to make the long ride home with us just yet. But if the trophy slipped through our fingers, the day more than made up for it in other ways. The biggest highlight? Darkside earning his Sheriff's badge right there in Tombstone β€” and maybe that's fitting, because back home, there's a nomination with his name on it for Sergeant at Arms, with the vote still to come. Some might say that badge was less a souvenir and more a sign of things to come. Tombstone has a way of revealing a person's true character, after all. We met new riders, swapped stories, shared laughs with folks we'd never have crossed paths with otherwise, and were reminded of exactly why we do this β€” not just for the trophy, but for the brotherhood and the ride itself. Tombstone may have kept the hardware this time. But we left richer for the experience, with a newly badged Sheriff in our ranks and, if the cards fall right, a future Sergeant at Arms waiting in the wings. We'll be back, Tombstone. The cards will fall our way.

Motorcycle Mayhem β€” The Ride, The Food, and The Show

Maricopa came alive recently as the American Legion Riders brought the community together for a day of food, fun, and two-wheeled adventure β€” Motorcycle Mayhem. The day kicked off the right way β€” with full plates and full hearts. The American Legion Auxiliary served up a community pancake and sausage breakfast that set the tone for everything that followed. Full bellies, good company, and the rumble of engines warming up β€” there's no better way to start a morning. Then the poker run was underway. Riders fanned out across the region, making stops at Mandy's Wine Bar, Florence American Legion Post No. 9, the Coolidge VFW Post 3713, Raceway Bar & Grill, and Duke's Roadhouse β€” collecting their cards and their stories at each stop along the way. The run culminated at the Ak-Chin Hotel & Casino, where poker hands were finally revealed and the competition heated up. A special thank you goes out to Ak-Chin for generously opening up their parking lot free of charge β€” it made all the difference. The casino grounds also played host to the day's car and bike show, where some truly stunning machines turned heads and sparked conversations among riders and community members alike. It was the perfect way to cap off a day already filled with great riding and great people.

Sportster Raffle - The Finale That Stole the Show

If the poker run and bike show were the heartbeat of Motorcycle Mayhem, then the finale was the moment that made it legendary. The crowd made their way back to Duke's Roadhouse β€” and a huge thank you to Duke's for their incredible hospitality throughout the day β€” where the main event was waiting. One Harley Davidson Sportster. One winning ticket. And a room full of people barely breathing as the raffle draw approached. The anticipation was thick. Everyone in that room knew what was at stake β€” not just a motorcycle, but a dream on two wheels. When the winning ticket was finally drawn, it belonged to Guy West from Post 24 in Tombstone. But Guy wasn't done surprising the crowd. Without missing a beat, he turned and handed the keys to his son, Greyson. The room erupted. In a single gesture, Guy turned a raffle win into something far more meaningful β€” a father's gift, and a memory that neither of them will ever forget. Congratulations to Guy and Greyson West. That Sportster found exactly the right home. And with that, Motorcycle Mayhem rode off into the sunset β€” already leaving people talking about what next year might bring.
