Motorcycle Mayhem — The Ride, The Food, and The Show

Maricopa came alive recently as the American Legion Riders brought the community together for a day of food, fun, and two-wheeled adventure — Motorcycle Mayhem. The day kicked off the right way — with full plates and full hearts. The American Legion Auxiliary served up a community pancake and sausage breakfast that set the tone for everything that followed. Full bellies, good company, and the rumble of engines warming up — there's no better way to start a morning. Then the poker run was underway. Riders fanned out across the region, making stops at Mandy's Wine Bar, Florence American Legion Post No. 9, the Coolidge VFW Post 3713, Raceway Bar & Grill, and Duke's Roadhouse — collecting their cards and their stories at each stop along the way. The run culminated at the Ak-Chin Hotel & Casino, where poker hands were finally revealed and the competition heated up. A special thank you goes out to Ak-Chin for generously opening up their parking lot free of charge — it made all the difference. The casino grounds also played host to the day's car and bike show, where some truly stunning machines turned heads and sparked conversations among riders and community members alike. It was the perfect way to cap off a day already filled with great riding and great people.
